Emilio Dumatol aka e.static is an LA-born Filipino architectural designer and music artist residing in Orange CA. He grew up having an innate connection to music. Gifted with a drum set at age 14, he showcased his skills, and easily gained substantial live performance experiences before graduating B.S. Architecture in Manila in the mid 1980s.
Initially captivated by progressive jazz, e.static found immense inspiration from Pat Metheny, Jean-Luc Ponty, and RTF. By 2016, his musical journey then led him to the indie rock, electronic dance, and techno/house scene where Richie Hawtin, Kaskade, Above & Beyond, Who Made Who, and Artbat further broadened his horizons. Well into 2021, e.static made a lengthy step away from his architectural profession to fully focus on music to further elevate the listening senses by creating music that brings new soundscapes mixed with literary substance meaningful to him. His aim: to create immersive auditory art guided by music making principles of producer Rick Rubin. Track on point, "One With The Universe'' (OWTU), released 09/2023. A three part "musical journey" tribute to British-philosopher Alan Watts. While the track musically narrates three ancient eastern philosophies, Samsara (cycle of life), The Way (Taoism - a way of living), and Satori (awakening), its cinematic intro gracefully builds to feature Alan Watts speaking of being "OWTU" within a melodic acid tech house arrangement. As the track climaxes to an abrupt silence, the sound of fusion surfaces as e.static jams his interpretation of Satori before a fading outro.
While OWTU is e.statics’ first official wide release, he already has other unreleased tracks, and continues to hone his craft aimed to bring similar musical experiences in hopes to elevate the spirit vibe.
